Description

Delightful banana bread brownies that marry the sweetness of ripe bananas with rich chocolate, creating a fudgy and indulgent treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until you achieve a smooth consistency.
  3. Combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until blended smoothly.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Fold the dry mixture into the banana mixture using a rubber spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Add chocolate chips if desired, folding them gently into the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  10. Cool the brownies in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container for up to three days or refrigerate for a week. Freezing is also an option for longer storage.
