Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×9 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter with the mashed bananas.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until fully combined.
- Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the banana mixture, folding gently until just combined.
- Add the chocolate chips if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
