Description

A delicious and savory pot roast infused with the rich flavors of French onion soup, slow-cooked to perfection in a crock pot.


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper on all sides.
  2. In a large skillet, sear the roast over medium-high heat until browned on all sides.
  3. Place the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crock pot.
  4. Transfer the seared roast to the crock pot on top of the onions and garlic.
  5. In a bowl, mix together the French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme.
  6. Pour the mixture over the roast in the crock pot.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender.
  8. Once cooked, shred the meat with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
