- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- Combine sliced bananas, 1 cup of sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes.
- Whisk together self-rising flour, 1 cup of whole milk, ½ cup sugar, and ground nutmeg in a separate bowl until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish without stirring. Spoon the banana mixture evenly over the batter without mixing.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
- Let the cobbler rest for about 10 minutes before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For a more decadent version, add chocolate chips or toasted coconut to the batter.
