Description

Bourbon Brown Sugar Pickles are a unique and flavorful twist on traditional pickles, combining the sweetness of brown sugar with the rich depth of bourbon for a delightful snack or condiment.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups sliced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add bourbon, mustard seeds, salt, black peppercorns, and crushed red pepper flakes to the mixture.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat and let it cool.
  4. Place sliced cucumbers in a jar and pour the cooled mixture over them.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more crushed red pepper flakes.
