- 1 tablespoon real bacon bits

Instructions
- Butter the bread: Generously butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
- Combine the beef: In a mixing bowl, mix the ground beef, black pepper, sea salt, and onion powder.
- Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into three equal sections and shape each into a patty.
- Cook the patties: Preheat a nonstick skillet and sear the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Finish cooking: Lower the heat and cook for about 5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Prepare the sauce: Mix together the mayo, ketchup, bacon bits, relish, and sugar in a small bowl.
- Assemble the patty melt: Layer cheese and beef patties between slices of buttered rye bread.
- Grill: Cook the sandwiches until the bread is crisp and the cheese melts, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Repeat until all patties are grilled.
- Serve: Slice in half and serve immediately.
