Ingredients
Scale
- 3 Large Potatoes
- 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- Optional: Onion or Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Prep the potatoes by peeling and grating them into thin shreds. Rinse under cold water to eliminate excess starch, then drain and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Add the grated potatoes to the hot oil in an even layer and season with salt and pepper. Cook undisturbed for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the hash browns carefully using a spatula and fry for another 5-7 minutes until crispy and golden all over.
- Drain them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings or enjoy as a side dish.
Notes
Make sure to drain the grated potatoes thoroughly for optimal crispiness. You can customize by adding bell peppers or cheese.
