Description

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to rid it of excess moisture.
  2. Cut the tofu into cubes.
  3. Coat in cornstarch.
  4. Heat oil and fry the tofu until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Prepare your sauce with soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  6. Comb the sauce over the crispy cubes and toss gently.
  7. Thicken the sauce by cooking for an additional few minutes.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
