Ingredients

- 1 lb Ground Beef or Lamb
- 1 medium Grated Onion (drained)
- 1 cup Chopped Parsley
- 2 cloves Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne (Optional)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 medium Lemon (for squeezing)
- 4 pieces Pita or Rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Combine meat and seasonings in a large mixing bowl, mixing thoroughly with your hands.
- Form the mixture into oblong patties, about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the patties on the grill for 4-5 minutes per side or in the oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over cooked patties before serving.
Notes
Drain grated onion well to prevent excess moisture. Prepare the mixture in advance for better flavor.
