- 1 lb Ground Beef or Lamb
- 1 medium Grated Onion
- 1 cup Chopped Parsley
- 2 cloves Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne (Optional)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 medium Lemon
- 4 pieces Pita or Rice
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef or lamb with the grated onion, chopped parsley, minced garlic, cumin, allspice, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a large mixing bowl.
- Shape the mixture into elongated patties, about 4 inches long and 1 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the kafta patties in the skillet once it’s hot.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Remove from heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges and your choice of pita or rice.
Notes
Consider cooking the kafta mixture a day in advance for enhanced flavor. Optionally, use a grill or air fryer for different cooking methods.
