- 500g minced meat (beef or lamb)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large bread cobs
- 1 cup grated cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large skillet, cook the minced meat over medium heat until browned.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, and carrots, and sauté until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- While the meat mixture is simmering, hollow out the bread cobs to create space for the filling.
- Once the meat mixture is ready, fill each bread cob with the meat mixture.
- If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top of the filling.
- Place the filled cobs on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like peas or corn for extra flavor.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
- Serve with a side of salad for a complete meal.
