Description

Meat Pie in a Cob is a delicious and unique comfort food that combines the savory flavors of meat pie with the fun and convenience of being served in a bread cob.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g minced meat (beef or lamb)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large bread cobs
  • 1 cup grated cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the minced meat over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and carrots, and sauté until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. While the meat mixture is simmering, hollow out the bread cobs to create space for the filling.
  6. Once the meat mixture is ready, fill each bread cob with the meat mixture.
  7. If desired, sprinkle grated cheese on top of the filling.
  8. Place the filled cobs on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
