Description

A vibrant and flavorful one-skillet dish featuring spicy sausage, rotini pasta, and a rich BBQ sauce that brings comfort and delight to your dinner table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz Rotini Pasta
  • 12 oz Spicy Sausage (Andouille or Italian)
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce (smoky or honey-based)
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder or Cayenne Pepper
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the rotini and cook according to package instructions until al dente—around 7 to 9 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Introduce the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed. Toss in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant—about 1 minute.
  4. Make the Sauce: Pour in the BBQ sauce, followed by honey, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well, letting it simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Combine and Toss: Return the sausage to the skillet, then add the drained pasta. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

For customization, consider adding bell peppers or spinach during the sauté phase for added nutrition and color.
