Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix well.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover the loaf and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
