Description

A luxurious grilled cheese sandwich featuring creamy brie and a sweet-tangy blueberry compote, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of Sourdough or Whole Wheat Bread
  • 1 cup Brie Cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • Optional: Maple Syrup or Honey for drizzling
  • Fresh Herbs (such as Thyme or Basil)

Instructions

  1. Make the Blueberry Compote: In a small saucepan over medium heat, add blueberries and mash lightly. Stir in sugar and lemon juice, cooking for 5-7 minutes until thickened. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Butter one side of each bread slice.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich: On the unbuttered side of one bread slice, layer brie, blueberry compote, and herbs. Top with the other slice, buttered side up.
  4. Cook the Sandwich: Heat skillet over medium. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until golden brown on one side.
  5. Flip and Finish: Flip the sandwich and grill for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and cheese melts.
  6. Serve: Cool slightly, cut in half, and optionally drizzle with maple syrup or honey.

Notes

Use room-temperature brie for easier spreading. The blueberry compote can be made a day ahead for convenience.
