Description

A delightful Chicken Fried Chicken recipe that combines a crispy golden-brown crust with tender, juicy chicken, enhanced by a buttermilk marinade and a blend of spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to ½-inch thickness.
  2. Soak the chicken in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the flour mixture by whisking together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Double-Dip the chicken in the flour mixture and buttermilk to create a crispy crust.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Rest the chicken on a wire rack to keep it crispy.

Notes

For a healthier option, try air-frying at 400°F for about 12 minutes. Make the buttermilk marinade earlier for better flavor.
