Description

Tender beef in a rich broth served on hoagie rolls with melted provolone cheese, perfect for cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef roast generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Lay the sliced onions and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. Combine the beef broth, water, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a mixing bowl, then pour over the beef.
  4. Cover the crockpot and set it to low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes.
  5. Remove the beef when done and shred it with two forks.
  6. Return the shredded beef to the broth in the crockpot.
  7. Serve by piling the shredded beef onto hoagie rolls and topping with provolone cheese.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare sauce and slice vegetables the night before. You can use an Instant Pot as an alternative for faster cooking.
