Description

Indulge in the rich flavors of Dark Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Cookies, featuring a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, chewy center packed with dark chocolate and fresh cherries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and let it warm up while you prepare the dough.
  2. Mix the Sugars and Butter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Incorporate Egg & Vanilla: Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract, blending until well combined and fluffy.
  4. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in Chocolate and Cherries: Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips and chopped cherries until evenly distributed.
  7. Scoop onto Baking Sheet: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dollops of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, keeping space between each cookie.
  8. Bake to Golden Perfection: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown.
  9. Cool & Enjoy: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a chewier cookie, slightly underbake for about 10 minutes. Make ahead by refrigerating the dough for up to 24 hours before baking.
