Description

A deliciously juicy burger topped with melted cheese and caramelized onions for an unforgettable flavor experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef patties (80/20 fat content)
  • 4 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, or gouda)
  • 1 large sweet onion (Vidalia or yellow)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp vegetable or canola oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-low heat and add oil.
  2. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. In another skillet, heat more oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Shape ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes on one side until crust forms, then flip.
  6. Top with cheese during the last minute of cooking.
  7. Assemble the burger with the cheesy patty and caramelized onions.

Notes

Let patties rest for a minute before serving. Serve with a fresh bun or enjoy without for a low-carb option.
