Description

A luxurious twist on the classic grilled cheese, featuring crisp bacon and sweet blackberry jam for a delightful and comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough, white, or whole grain)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, fontina, gouda, or havarti)
  • 2 slices of crispy bacon
  • 2 tablespoons blackberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain and set aside on a paper towel.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered-side down, in the same skillet. Layer half of the shredded cheese on top.
  4. Sprinkle the crispy bacon over the cheese. Spread the blackberry jam on top of the bacon.
  5. Add the rest of the cheese and top with the second slice of bread, buttered-side up.
  6. Cook on medium heat, pressing down slightly, until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt—about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Flip carefully and repeat for the other side.
  8. Remove from the skillet, allow to cool for a moment, then slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

For variation, try different cheeses or add ingredients like caramelized onions or arugula.
