Description

A delightful twist on traditional banana bread, combining the rich flavors of ripe bananas and crunchy Oreos for a moist, flavorful loaf.


Ingredients

  • 34 medium ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped Oreos
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a medium bowl until smooth.
  3. Combine vegetable oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl; beat until well combined.
  4. Fold in the mashed bananas into the wet mixture until fully integrated.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture gradually, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in chopped Oreos until evenly distributed.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to prepare the glaze, if desired. Drizzle over cooled bread.

Notes

This bread tastes better the next day as the flavors meld. For a quicker baking method, you can use an air fryer.
